It was a Frenchman named Nicephore Niepce who invented photography in 1826. His search for this form of capturing images actually began in 1811 when he was trying to find a way to reproduce his son’s drawings. He conducted countless experiments. In 1816 he obtained his first image on paper that he had saturated with silver chloride. The problem? The image disappeared after some time. But the patient man that he was Nicephore did not give up. And finally in 1826 he achieved his first true photograph on a light-sensitive plate. The image appeared after 8 long hours of exposure.
