What are the official languages of the UN?

An international organisation like the United Nations must have effectivewaystoovercomelanguage barriers. Since almost every country in the world is represented at the United Nations,itisnotanexaggeration to say that the United Nations is a mini world in itself.
The organisation uses six official languages in its meetings and documents. They are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. The Secretariat uses two working languages, English and French.
