Which are the principal organs of the UN?

The UN has six principal or­gans. They are the General Assembly ,theSecurityCouncil, the Economic and Social Council, the Secretariat, the International Court of Justice and the Trusteeship Council.
The General Assembly delib­erates on major issues. The Security Council decides certain resolutions for peace and security. The Economic and Social Council assists in pro­moting international economic and social cooperation and de­velopment. The Secretariat provides the information and facilities needed by the UN. The International Court of Justice is the main judicial body. The Trusteeship Council supervised theadministration of trust (non-self governing) territories. It suspended operation after the last trust territory gained its sovereignly in 1994.
