Volcanoes In The World

According to the recent Smithsonian Institution book, VOLCANOES OF THE WORLD there are about 1511 volcanoes that are considered to be active. There are many other dramatic looking volcanoes - such as Arthur's Seat in Edinburg that are ancient and dead. And there are many volcanoes on the ocean floor (especially in the western Pacific) and on Mars and Venus!
