HIV

HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus, it usually leads to AIDS. It is a virus that only humans can pass to other humans. Once it is inside a person's body, it begins to break down or weaken the person's immune system. A person who has HIV may not get sick for a long time. You cannot tell if a person has HIV just by looking at them. The only way to know if a person has HIV is to do an official test.
