Hepatitis β B or Jaundice as itβs more commonly known is caused by a virus attacking the liver.
The virus, Hepatitis β B is dangerous because it can lead to cancer of the liver. Blumberg successfully identified the micro-organisms by tracing the anti-bodies and then isolated them. He also invented a technique to detect the virus.Blumberg prepared the vaccine against Hepatitis β B. He received the Nobel Prize in 1976 along with Gajdusek.
