In order to provide maximum benefit 4rm each blood donation n to extend shelf-life,blood banks fractionate some whole blood into several products.the most common of these products r packed.
RBCs,plasma,platelets,cryoprecipitate n fresh frozen plasma(FFP).FFP is quick-frozen to retain the labile clotting factors V n VII,which r usually administered to patients who have a potentially fatal clotting problem caused by a condition such as advanced liver diseases,overdose of anticoagulation r disseminated intravascular coagulation(DIC).

Units of packed red cells r made by removing as much of the plasma as possible 4rm whole blood units. red blood cells r divided into 4 types of blood groups .blood groupAB individuals have both A n B antigens on yhe surface of their RBCs n their blood serum does not contain any antibodies against either A r B antigen .blood group A individuals have the antigen A on the surface of their RBCs,n their blood serum containing LGM antibogies against the B antigen .blood group B individuals have the antibgen B on the surface of their RBCs n blood serum containing lgm antibodies against the A antigen .blood group O individuals do not have either A r B blood groups on the surface of their RBCs,but their blood serum contains lgm anti-A antibodies n anti-B antibodies against the A n B blood group antigens.in some countries it is also called as zero blood group .
