Why Madame Tussaud started Her Wax Work?Added on:12/8/2007 5:55:50 PM In Arts & Humanities | By: Nicky Status | Viewed: 262 times | Rated by 1 users
Sure today the Madame Tussaud Waxworks in London makes headlines every time a new `wax’ celebrity finds his or her place there. But when she started her work, it was not for felicitating a celebrity with her art. Madame Tussaud lived at the time of the French Revolution. And in fact her very first celebrity work was actually to make the wax facemasks of King Louis the sixteenth and his queen Marie Antoinette because their heads had been cut off by the revolutionaries! Pretty gory start that, right?
