Whales And Dolphins Were Once Land Animals

Like all mammals, even these marine mammals—whales and dolphins—once had feet. More than 50 million years ago they were land animals with hooves. Scientists believe that these mammals would have probably lived in coastal areas where they caught fish by wading into shallow waters.
